Dish Network TV2 remote problems and fix

Dish Network has a few single receivers that control two rooms. These receivers are the 322, 222, 625, 722 and a couple other modules. This is a nice feature for when you don't want a big receiver box in every room. As a former installer of dish network I noticed that TV 2 sometimes had a problem changing the channel. The problem was that the UHF siginal for tv2 would not go the distance if the 2 TV's were on opposite sides of the house.

So if I showed up on a service call with this problem or on a new install, I would extend the antenna that was on the back of the receiver. This antenna you see back is there to pick up the signal that remote 2 sends to change the channel.

When I saw this being done for the first time it seemed a little hard but it wasn't.
All you need is two 2-way splitters and less then 3 feet of RG-6 cable.

Here is a diagram to simplify it for you. Some browsers have an issue with showing the full picture of the diagram. Simply click on the picture to see it in an enlarged view.

The colors of the wires on the diagram are the same colors of the ports center on the back of your receiver. If you unscrew the antenna that port is green, TV 2 is yellow and your satellite inputs are blue.

Remove the antenna and the wire for Tv2 set them aside.
Tv2 is labeled on the back of the receiver and if you removed the right one you will see yellow on the port Tv2 was connected on and green for the port the antenna was on.

Take two new RG-6 cables of the same size (8 to 10 in long) and hook one to the antenna port and one to the TV 2 port on the receiver.

Take those two wires and attache them to the 2 way splitter. Now take the Tv2 wire we set aside at the beginning and hook it to that splitter we added.

Now go to the TV2 room and disconnect the RG-6 cable from the back of the tv. Screw the RG-6 cable on to the splitter and screw the antenna on the same side. Take another foot of RG-6 cable and hook it to the back of the TV and screw the other side of it to the splitter.

Good you are done now! I hope you really enjoy not having to fight with the remote for the channel to change.

I sell these splitters and wires pre-cut with the ends"F connectors" on them for 20.00 no shipping cost to USA to make it easier for people. I will just send a pay-pal invoice to your email for buyer protection.
